1st Quarter of 2003 Meeting Minutes

Deidra Walker welcomed the group to the 1st quarter Rocky Mountain Lawson User Group Meeting, which had 93 attendees.

 

Lori Rude with Lawson opened up the meeting with introductions of all the Lawson staff and outlined the agenda for the day.

Richard Eby, Lawson Client Manager gave a GSC overview, support.lawson.com download center, patch notification, case management.  He also talked about Training and the web base training library, the enhancement request system, knowledge base and Lawson’s interactive customer support.

Rhonda Schuler, Lawson Training Manager updated the User Group members that Lawson Training is now available in Denver.  Classes are held at Agilera training facilities once a month.  The current classes offered are surrounding the 8.0x upgrade. The training cost is based on based on the class not days.  Rhonda would like to know your training needs.   Her email address is Rhonda.schuler@lawson.com.

Theresa Wagner talked about Why Upgrade to 8.0x. Some of the benefits were Portal technology, technical benefits, application benefits, financial, HR and procurement differences and the enterprise performance management suite.  She also talked about how to prepare for the upgrade. She talked about how important project planning is when doing an upgrade.  She went into detail regarding the design phase, the construction phase and the activation phase.  She also talked about key players in an upgrade resource team and how Lawson can help you be successful in your upgrade.

Scott Stephens presented the technical Lawson overview.  He talked about Lawson’s enterprise portal, enterprise reporting, MS add-ins, Lawson’s Process Flow, Lawson’s smart notifications and design studio tools.

 

Chris L’Archevesue and Paul Jensen from Centura Health gave an update on their successful upgrade to 8.02.  They went live 1/13/03!  They talked about their lessons learned and what elements made their upgrade successful.

There were break out sessions given by Lawson consultants on upgrade details by product area. The product areas were Financial, HR/Payroll, Procurement/Distribution and technical.
